Cost of Fuel
Current fuel prices vary between 60p and 75p per litre although
these prices may vary widely. Petrol is usually cheaper in The
Republic of Ireland than in Northern Ireland.
Alcohol
Drink driving is taken very seriously in Ireland and heavy fines
are imposed motorists found to be above the legal blood/alcohol
limit which currently stands at 0.08%.
Tolls
There are no toll roads in Ireland. There are two toll bridges
in the Dublin area costing 70 pence approximately.
Seat
Belts
Seat belts are compulsory in the front and the rear if fitted
in Ireland.
Licence
You
are legally required to carry your driving licence, registration
and insurance papers with you at all times.
If
you have a hire car you do need to carry all the necessary documents
and produce them on request.
