DRIVING
LICENCE
Visitors
can legally drive in New Zealand for up to 12 months if they
are in possession of either a current driver's licence from
their home country or an International Driving Permit
After
12 months the law states that all drivers must convert to a
New Zealand licence
In
New Zealand, visitors must have their driving licence or international
driving permit at all times when driving. If an overseas licence
or permit is not in English, visitors must carry an accurate
English translation issued by:
The
New Zealand Translation service, or
a diplomatic representative at a high commission, embassy or
consulate, or
the authority that issued your overseas licence (an international
driving permit may be acceptable as a translation).
